Product Info for Therm-a-Rest ProLite Sleeping Pad
As the original inventor of the self-inflating sleeping pad, weve mastered the art of crafting these high-performance pads for camping and backpacking. The ProLite is the foundation of our ProLite line, offering adventurers the lightest and most compact self-inflating option on the market. The 1-inch (2.5 cm) sleeping pad uses diagonally-cut foam to increase warmth while saving weight, giving the pad a 2.4 R-value for three-season adventures. The lightweight self-inflating pad features the high-performance WingLock valve, which has three-times the airflow rate of the classic valve thanks to a larger opening and one-way inflation. Like all Therm-a-Rest pads, the ProLite is made in market to ensure quality and minimize environmental impact. The pad includes a compact stuff sack.

Are you small like me? (5'2"). Don't want to pay a weight penalty for more pad than you need? This is it. Weight was exactly 8 oz. on my scale. The pad sprung a leak before I hit the trail but a quick application of crazy glue on the leaking seam did the trick. I backpacked for 4 days and 3 nights on the A.T. in the smokies and the pad worked great. In fact I would say almost 100% of the A.T. through hikers had the same pad and none have had any problems. Ive only used the pad in my tent, but i plan to take it with me the next time i crash on someones floor for a night or two or when i have lawn seats to a game or concert. What a great pad. I used the ridge rest for a while but I like to lay on my side and with the ridge rest my hips would kill in the morning. So I got the prolite and the problum was solved. Straight out of the box, I slept on this for 11 nights on a concrete floor in Idaho in December. I stayed warm and never woke up with any hip or shoulder pain. Very important to me as a side sleeper! I can say it has met all my expectations and more.
