Product Info for Trango Rock Prodigy Training Board

Based on the highly successful training routines of Mark and Mike Anderson, authors of The Rock Climber's Training Manual: A Guide to Continuous Improvement", the Rock Prodigy Training Center is designed for extremely precise and repeatable exercises. The two pieces allow you to fine-tune the position to match your body, and the computer engineered design yields perfectly symmetrical holds. The Anderson brothers went from average climbers to 5.14 crushers using finely tuned training regimens. This hangboard's design is based on years of experimentation and refinement, and is the perfect tool to help climbers of all abilities progress to the next level. UPDATED Spring 2016: For the updated 2016 Rock Prodigy Training Center, we used a totally new development method, pioneered with the Rock Prodigy Forge. The result is a more gentle and consistent texture throughout and even more precise control of production tolerances. You'll find more support under the small crimp grip and a bumper on the pinch so its easier to place your fingers quickly on each set. All hold dimensions and angles are identical to the original Rock Prodigy Training Center, making it a great option for users of any ability.image

I bought the prodigy training board to help keep my grip strength up after the rock climbing gyms closed down due to COVID-19 and I must say that the "beginner" hangboard training routine I found online KILLS my forearms...but in a good way. I would definitely recommend this to beginners. I am at a V5 level at the Touchstone Climbing Gyms in California after climbing since Nove...

I got this hangboard since it was rated highly on OutdoorGearLab.com. The hangboard's two main long edges have a cool variable edge size that gets progressively narrower further from the center. This is a really killer feature since it lets you dial the edge size to be exactly the right difficulty as you get more tired during a workout. These edges range in size from about .25"...

This is the first hangboard I've owned. After using it for a couple months, I really love the layout and variety of holds. Having three different pinch options is great.

I created a DIY blank slate system bc i didn't wanna drop $150. I also created my own pulley system for $5. All in all, it's a great board with lots of hold variety and an outstanding training system. highly recommend this board and am quite happy with the purchase after debating over this one or the beastmaker series!

I'm most of the way through the hangboard phase of my first Rock Prodigy training cycle, and am very happy with this particular unit. If you're in your ARC phase now and are convinced you'll stick with it, it's time to get one of these. Give yourself some time to install it properly with a decent pulley system and plenty of subtraction weight. (As an 11+/12- climber new to t...
