Just getting into backpacking and this tent was highly rated as a comfortable lightweight option. Award winning. It is 3.5 lbs and couldn't be simpler to set up. Even though it is so lightweight, it is very roomy, which was the main reason I got it. I didn't want to be cramped. So it's the best of both worlds - lightweight and roomy. I love it.

I was deciding between the fly creek UL2 and copper spur UL2. While the fly creek was almost 1 lb lighter, I tried it out and it barely fit me inside with a little bit of gear (I'm 6'2", 200lbs). my feet touched the bottom part of the fly creek even when staked out (and the tent isn't truly freestanding so requires stake out). The Coppur Spur had much more vertical walls giving it more head room and capacity. And while it is tight for two people, can be used as a couples tent where I would never use the fly creek ul2 for two people. Coppur Spur also had more vestibule space. Overall, great tent, very waterproof/wind proof, and great views with the complete mesh dome, all for under 3 lbs.

i am a uni student studying physical and outdoor education and i highly rate this tent (so far).. i go on numerous camps and cant wait till i attack a 10 day hike through the australian alps with the copper spur ul2. the first 3 trips i have had no problems so lets see how it handles the aussie alps
