Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL3 mtnGLO Tent - 3 Person, 3 Season
I bought this tent for my trip on the JMT in August. I love it !! It is light weight and very easy to attach to my back pack to carry on trail. I bought the UL3 but using it for a very roomy 2 person tent. This tent is the easiest tent to set up that I have ever owned! I set it up in less than 3 mi...

This is my 2nd Copper Spur and 3rd Big Agnes tent overall. Great design, materials and manufacturing. Really weight efficient and easy to setup.
Given the steep pricetag, I had the perception this would be a lifelong tent - well that was completely wrong. I used the tent every year for about a w...

Absolutely love this backpacking tent! Now that I have used it multiple times for many days in a row on thru-hikes of the JMT in 2016, 2018, and a few side trips; I can definitely give this tent 5 starts! Very easy to set up! The rain fly set up is super quick and easy as well. I bought the 3 person model to have extra room for gear while hiking the JMT with my son. We hunkered down in this tent for 3 hours rain storms in the Sierras many times! Windy conditions were no problem for us! This tent held up with no problem at all! This tent has been through the toughest of weather and still is my “go-to” backpacking tent. It is light for a 3-person tent as well. I love the built in lights, it is a very nice feature and proved to be useful to us. You cannot go wrong with this model, wether it is the 1, 2 , or 3 person edition. Big Agnes delivers when it comes to light weight durable tents!
Pros:
Lightweight
waterproof
Easy to set up
Durable and functional
wind resistant
highly rated
Cons:
The mesh got a hole after a few years of heavy usage
Best Used for:
Lightweight camping
Lightweight backpacking tent
Backpacking (multiple days)

I like the new design and construction of this Copper Spur 3 person tent. It is perfect for 2 people to sleep most comfortably. You could roll out another sleeping bag for the 3rd person, but it's just ideal room for two. Can't wait to set up at the high lake and hunker down in a thunderstorm! I bet it will keep dry inside, with the high-wall design. Super easy and quick to pitch, with color coded poles and buckles. The thin material is top of line for strength. Most of the tent body is lightweight mesh, so great for ventilation.
Pros:
Light weight and mostly mesh for good ventilation and less condensate.
Cons:
Shame on me, thinking the tent was made in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. It is out-sourced, from Eastern Asia. Hope it holds up for a long time.
Best Used for:
Ultralight backpacking, Quick set up along the river banks.
