Great sleeping mattress

by Mark H., Written on August 17, 2016
A great air mattress, since I bought my first one a couple years ago I sleep like a log now, no aches and pains in the morning, you never have a problem being on cold ground, I know own three of them.

The Downmat 9 is bomber.

by Brent, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on May 20, 2016
If you want a reliable and non-noisy, warm pad, this is it. All pads are prone to some leakage of air over time, so Exped always provides seam patching kits - I haven't "yet" had to use it... although I'm sure I will ultimately. I'm 5'9+, but as a prone stomach sleeper I need a long and wide (LW). The pad feels great.

So far, so good...

by Chelsey P., Written on December 31, 2014
this seems like a great product, I can lay on it and I feel warmer within a minute and it is very comfortable.Unfortunately, I have yet to try it for winter camping, but it seems like a very promising product.

exped downmat 9 LW

by Phil C., Written on November 17, 2014
This is a great insulated mat that really makes a difference for heat loss. I have used this to zero degrees with no problem on temperature. As an air mattress, be aware of sharp objects. Thank goodness for the repair kit included! I really like the longer wider size on this mattress. I have never slept better in my tent.

Great mat

by GBGlvr, from OH, United States Written on April 3, 2014
Read other reviews but decided the extra weight was worth it in order to be that high off the ground and warm. Inflation does get tiring, but it does inflate faster, it seems, after you have used it a couple of times. The mat is very comfortable with little to no slippage. Exped makes great mats!

Slightly Larger and Heavier Than Xtherm

by Alaska Camper, from AK, United States Written on April 3, 2014
I have both the Neoair Xtherm and the Downmat 9, I can't honestly say the downmat is that much larger, it is slightly heavier. It packs to a fraction of the size of a traditional large pad (Camprest). It is very warm and comfortable for winter camping. If you want space savings and a warm pad, this is for you. I have not decided how I feel about the inflation mechanism yet, its about 3 minutes of

Do the math

by S-curvy, from CA, United States Written on December 12, 2013
DV's really nails the nitty gritty of the DownMat 9, so use that review for details. To it, I add:

1) I've used this for snow camping and it makes a huge difference in comfort, warmth, and weight. My system is to use the DownMat9 on top of some sort of IR reflective space blanket. Otherwise, one must carry and use 2 other type pads of your choice, plus a space blanket to get acceptible, not th

Love the Downmat 9 sleeping pad.

by BamaFireman, Written on December 12, 2013
I borrowed a friend's Downmat for a trip to Mt. Whitney. The temps were near zero and the wind was 50 knots.

The Downmat was surprisingly warm. Part of the night, I slept under my sleeping bag instead of zipped inside it. I purchased my own Downmat after I returned from Whitney. It should serve me well in the future.

Well worth it!

by Old guy learns, from WA, United States Written on December 12, 2013
Now that I am getting older I am also finally getting smarter. A good nights sleep is one of the most important things contributing to a great multi day trip. Yes, the long /wide is a bit heavier than most pads, not a problem when kayaking, and it costs a bit more as well, but it is well worth it, especially if you're a side sleeper . After a long day on the trail, or in my kayak, I need a good

Downmat 9 Sleeping Pad

by Tatlow, from YT, Canada Written on September 10, 2013
I was worried it would not stow easily back in the bag - not true, easy to fit back in. Much easier to put in a backpack due to shape than a therma rest
