Most Helpful Positive Review Fantastic, super-light pack with many features
After 4 treks with this pack, 3 to Glacier NP and one to CO, for a total of well north of 240 miles, I think I am qualified to give this pack a objective rating. For the features (hip belt pockets, adjustable belt, side pockets, lid, huge main compartment, large expansion compartment on back, multip...

Most Helpful Negative Review Flaw in the removable lid
After receiving the pack I went through all the buckles, zippers, etc and noticed one of the buckles on the lid is flipped with the matching buckle on the Pack. One of the reasons I bought this pack is its ability to use the removable belt to use it with the lid as a hip belt pack. Because these to ...

Over 500 miles and counting

by Melway, from CO, United States Written on May 29, 2024
Got this bag because I’m a cheapo and my Gregory diva was pinching a nerve in my hip after 60 miles. Love this bag and it’s holding up great. Big hip pockets, and balances the pack weight perfectly on shoulders and hips. Fits a ton and brain detaches and you can take out the frame for even lighter weight although I’ve never done that . Managed to fit 11 days of food in it for the JMT and it fits a bear vault easily . Durable and no malfunctions so far. I’m 5’8 and 125 lbs and have the hip belt as tight as it will go but still fits perfectly. The only thing I would change is an easier pocket to hold a water bottle as the side pockets are hard to reach around into. So I made a bottle holder and attached it to the shoulder strap. But for price I wouldn’t get a different pack !

I LOVE This bag

by NoForksGiven, Verified Owner from NJ, United States Written on May 26, 2024
I just came back from my first shakedown trip on the AT so I wasn't sure what to expect. This bag is worth its weight in gold. It's comfortable. It offers a lot of space and is so versatile in how it can be packed. I literally felt like I had nothing on my back and I had at least 25 pounds worth of stuff packed. I LOVE how adjustable all the straps are too. At the beginning, I felt some shoulder discomfort on my left side and noted that I might need to fix how I packed my bag. I actually was able to fix this by adjusting one of the straps on top. After that, I was no longer in pain. I woke up the next day from lugging myself with this bag up and down Rocksylvania feeling ready for more. I am so excited to get back out there with this bag. I am so happy I bought it.

I want to note: I am 5'4 and about 175 pounds if that helps anyone. I was able to climb huge rocks no problem with this bag on.
Pros:
  • Comfortable
  • adjustable
  • packing space
Cons:
  • wish it had an inside zipper
Best Used for:
  • hike
  • camping & backpacking

Granite gears crown 2 60

by Rio, from NM, United States Written on January 22, 2024
The granite gear crown 60 is an excellent lightweight, almost ultralight, backpack, holding about 50 L in the side, side and back pockets in main pocket if the brain is left off. I have hiked in the winter and fall and spring with the backpack for multiple day hikes and found it to be very useful and comfortable to carry provided. It’s not loaded to heavy. I found that when I loaded it heavy with food and too much water did it failed to be comfortable either on the shoulder straps or the hip belt Just took over 35 pounds of weight to happen however, in my usual base weight was around 15 to 18 pounds where it was highly comfortable. I found the brain to be useful for putting such items is cooking equipment, toilet paper and trial first aid kit and Diddy bag however, these were already in their own separate bags, and I didn’t really need a separate bag to segregate them in , the brain part less sense these days than it did earlier backpacking scenarios I’ve experimented with taking the plastic frame out and found that it was more comfortable with the frame in and it adds negligible, additions and white found adjustable waist belt to be excellent and functional, and I like the entire waste belt suspension system I put mesh bags on the shoulder straps so that I had a bottle of water handy and wanted to put my sunglasses in the side pockets can carry one and a half liter bottle on each side along with the water filter and whatever else might be needed. It carries my sleeping qui...

Granite Gear Crown2 60L Backpack

by Bill, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on July 14, 2023
Bought 2 of these, 1 for my son and 1 for myself, to use next year for Philmont. Love how light weight they are and super simple to pack and unpack. So far so good on training hikes. The roll top is awesome and allows us to customize what we have in the pack. The removal brain work great and could be used as a small daypack, but we have not figured out a comfortable way to do that yet.

by best bag for money, from MS, United States Written on July 1, 2023
Incredible bag, and price, and his bag is light, pretty, and built for a big person to be able to use it, and that is rare, most hiking and camping companies try to exclude fat dudes, and as much money as it costs, i am real tired of that mess.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • material
  • sick colors
  • great adjustment
  • adjustable waist straps
Cons:
  • would like a rain cover
Best Used for:
  • Whatever you throw at em

Light and Very Portable

by IRJ, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on March 10, 2023
I like it that the top pouch, waist band, and even the inner back panel can be removed to save weight. The already light pack is ideal for all-terrain and multi-day backpacking trip. It feels very thin but yet durable. Hard to imagine that this is a 60L but it can stuff a lot!

Simple and well designed backpacking bag

by Richard, from QC, Canada Written on June 23, 2022
It doesn't have many bells and whistles but everything on this bag well designed with purpose in mind. A satisfying amount of pockets, the top brain be removed and clips to itself to hang it up somewhere. The only gripe would be that the shoulder straps could be a bit more padded. You'll feel it if your bag is completely full with heavier gear.

Space for days

by Grasshopper, from MO, United States Written on April 3, 2022
Simple, lightweight, and spacous! Make sure to measure your torso length to get a proper fit. Adjustable hip belts are very nice. Hip packs are large enough to store a fire kit or a whistle/ multitool, or a few snack bars. Water bottle pockets are huge and large enough to fit 2x 1L smartwater bottle's each. The brain capacity is enough for my poncho tarp, trowl, paracord, ti stakes, polycryo groundsheet, and leather gloves with room to spare. Room for days, I prefer to use a stuff sack for my 20° synthetic bag rather than deal with a compression bag. Very happy to find "OD" green or similar UL gear, im not a fan of wacky colors or hi-vis everything when out in the woods. Only con is that the buckle for the chest strap is a bit "sticky".
Pros:
  • Simple
  • Light, cheap, tactical colors
Cons:
  • Chest strap buckle
Best Used for:
  • UL hiking
