The Big Agnes Angel Springs UL 3 Tent is a spacious ultra-light backpacking tent. Coming in just over 3.5 lbs, you'll barely notice it in your pack if you split the weight with a couple buddies. Going for a quick overnighter? Strip the tent down to the rainfly, tent poles, stakes and a Fast Fly footprint (sold separately), at a little over 2 lbs you won't sacrifice mobility with extra weight on quick summit trips.

The best weight/space ratio on a freestanding tent

I confess I did not buy mine here- I found it cheaper elsewhere. But not by much, and it was a special sale, so Campmor probably has the best price at the moment. Bought 2 of these for my family of 5. Camped one night and so far very happy. Very easy to setup, roomy, great ventilation. Quality components throughout. The "jakes' foot" pole and fly attachment system is awesome. Untested in wind, but has a number of tie down points. This thing is huge (43sqft) for a tent that packs down to the size of a small cantaloupe (w/o poles) and weighs just over 3lb total. It is completely freestanding but staking it down is recommended. Tested for 7 nights including two with rain. The tent is easy to setup, holds in moderate wind, and does not leak in the rain. It has great ventilation and did not collect much condensation.
