Will I be charged if an item is on backorder?
Will I be charged if an item is on backorder?
- No, you will not. We do not capture (collect) funds from credit cards, debit cards, or PayPal before an item is being prepared for shipment. This means that in the case of a backorder, you will not be charged until we have received the item from our supplier and are preparing to ship it to your door.
But when I ordered the product, I think you charged me. What was that since you say you don't charge until the product is able to ship?
- We do authorize your payment method during the checkout process to ensure the method you provided is valid. Once we begin processing your order, we void (cancel) the authorization amount for any items that are not in stock. Until your card issuer processes this void, you may see a pending charge from us. This is typically removed within a week. We cannot do anything to speed this process up but rest assured, we did not collect any money from your payment method, regardless of whether you used a credit card, debit card, or PayPal.
- If you have any issues with pending charges showing up for an item that is not in stock, please wait a week, and then contact your card issuer to ensure there is no delay on their end processing the removal of the charge.
